THE GATHERING: Istanbul Gig Postponed
November 17, 2006THE GATHERING drummer Hans Rutten has posted the following message on the band's official web site:
"The Istanbul gig [scheduled for Nov. 23] is postponed to February 2007. Tickets remain valid. More news will follow. I can assure all of you the band is really disappointed. We are looking forward though to play in Istanbul in February, with a new local promoter. The guy disappeared suddenly. It has nothing to do with rescheduling our European tour or that we don't feel going to Turkey because of any reason or whatever bullshit reason they will tell you. We feel sorry for all of you who bought (air)tickets."
THE GATHERING's previously announced Turkish gigs in Izmir (Nov. 24) and Ankara (Nov. 25) were cancelled by the promoter earlier in the month.
As previously reported, a video clip of THE GATHERING performing the song "Waking Hours" at the Paradiso in Amsterdam, Holland on September 19, 2006 has been posted online at Google Video. The complete live show is still available for streaming at Fabchannel.com.
THE GATHERING recently returned to the road in Europe after they had to cancel the first month of their European "Homelands" tour back in April due to vocalist Anneke van Giersbergen suffering an obstinate bronchial and sinus infection.
THE GATHERING released its latest album, "Home", in April on The End Records.
